Marco conceptual y metodológico del riesgo por sequía y sus componentes: amenaza, exposición y vulnerabilidad

Drought risk reduction and its direct indirect impacts have gained worldwide relevance during the last decades. This paper presents a review of basic conceptual methodological tools to analyze drought in given system. The fundamental components are described, conceived primarily as function hazard (or specific danger, which this case is phenomenon); exposure (people, property, livelihoods, systems that subject potential damage loss due hazard), vulnerability (represented by socio-economic environmental conditions system make it susceptible suffering damage). concepts definitions associated with these explained most usual mathematical methods models for calculating them presented. It concluded that, great diversity approaches, concepts, determine risk, at discretion researcher or evaluator selection appropriate depending on approach adopted, information available, objective investigation context.
